Re: One more time - How did you find this site...

About a year and a half ago I started researching trucks for the purpose of buying an antique, and as with my other hobbies, I relay heavily on forums for detailed information.

I searched the internet for truck forums and landed here for GM truck research.

Several of the best forums I use for other interest (hit & miss engines, John Deere, Harley's) use the same software, which indicated to me that this was the place to be.

I lingered in the 60-66 area for a year, then started poking around the 67-72 forum as I expanded my search for a truck.

I bought a 67 K10 in June...and now monitor/read this site multiple times a day, and just made my first purchase through the for sale section.

I do not mind paying an annual fee for access.

This is what happened with me, too. When I bought my 69 Chevy truck, it was not running and had not run in years. So the first thing to do was research what it takes to fix all the various things to get the truck running. When googling how to fix stuff, it all leads back to here.

Re: One more time - How did you find this site...

A harder question would be "how could you not find this site?" If you do an Internet search that includes Chevy,gmc,67 or 72 or practically search for anything on the web that includes the word truck ,somewhere you will turn up a post from this site. There's so much info streaming from here that it's hard not to turn it up in a search.i don't remember specifically but I'm sure that's how I found it,once you look your hooked. I bet if you google chickens it would turn up somewhere.

Re: One more time - How did you find this site...

Word of mouth.
...a buddy of mine in town told me about it on several occasions so I logged in and watched the website and its members roll out on interesting issues, parts, problems, successes etc.....
It was far more civil and much better run/managed than a boating website I used to frequent....which was more like a place where cranky guys went to anonymously yell on line at other people...lol
Regarless, with respect to this site.....I haven't regretted a minute of it.....great website.
all good

I was using the Web-Crawler search engine. It was the bomb before Google took over.

Re: One more time - How did you find this site...

I bought some parts from a well know parts distributor, when they came their was a invoice from somebody else included. I called the number on the invoice to see if they wanted me to mail it to them. That person is a member here, and gave me this site.
