8 lug center cap

For those of you looking for center caps for late model aluminum factory wheels. I had trouble finding caps to fit rear axle on my c20. I know you need dually caps but most of them are for steel wheels only that are affordable. I bought some for steel wheels and made them fit. I had to take my sawzall and cut off the back edge.after i hacked them up they bolted right on.

Re: 8 lug center cap

I'm pretty sure the difference between the steel wheel cap and the alloy wheel cap is the chrome on the cap I have junked about ten of those and the caps all fit the same. Excuse me for butting in. I know I have used the chrome cap from an alloy truck to go on a chromed steel wheel. Also i have sold some plain ones to go on a truck that had alloys.

Re: 8 lug center cap

some listed on ebay say steel wheel only. the back edge on these would not fit close enough for the plastic bolts to start. ihad to cut some of the back lip off to get them started.

Smile Re: 8 lug center cap

i usually find mine at yard sales and once in a while pick-n-pull. yard sales are usually cheap, like 20 bucks a set or less. i cut out the centers on the front ones to use on my 4x4s so i can lock/unlock my hubs. i run 14 bolts under everything so i don't need the dually caps.
