Re: Longhorn head count!

Nice looking truck! Why the high revs?

Re: Longhorn head count!

Just super low geared behind a th350. Really wanting to find an LS w/ OD tranny to swap into it eventually. I'm not sure how accurate the factory tach actually is, but it was wound up for sure! I think it read 3200rpm at 55.

-edit- So according to the rpm calculator I just looked at online, with 4.10 rear gears it should have only been around 2500rpm at 55. I'm thinking the cool factory tach is pretty much window dressing at this point!

Re: Longhorn head count!

Had to add mine to the mix! She is still a work in progress, but aren't they always.. 1972 C-20 with a 5.3L LS and 4L60e out of an '02 Tahoe. She will be my daily with all the modern conveniences (power windows/locks, etc.). Great seeing all the 'horns!

Re: Longhorn head count!

I don't think I've posted in this thread, but since mine is a Longhorn (or at least a 133" Custom Camper" I might as well! I welded up the scars, er, the "seams" for the bed extension so they're not as obvious, but it's still the big bed.

Re: Longhorn head count!

XADom13, nice Longhorn!

Tomahawk30, very nice Longhorn! I love that black on black. Maybe you can find a D60 with 3:54 gears and a posi for it.

Davepl, I love your truck!

Re: Longhorn head count!

Here are some current pictures of my 72 K30 Longhorn. I've finally gotten it to the point where I can actually drive it. Still a ways to go to be considered finished.
