66 c10 rochester 2jet carb HELP!
something weird happening with my carb. It is rebuilt, installed, cranked it up last night without the road draft tube/pcv setup on it, (open port at the base of the carb) and it ran like a champ, good idle, etc.
Once i connected the PCV setup from the carb to the road draft hose, it will not idle, chokes out until it dies. I tried reversing the pcv in hopes that i had it in backwards, but same thing. but the second i disconnect the pcv from the hose at the base of the carb, it runs fine. what gives??? I know I cant just leave the port at the base of the carb open..?? |

Re: 66 c10 rochester 2jet carb HELP!
Mine did this with my new carburetor and it ended up being a clogged PCV valve. When I bought the truck, the PCV hose had a splice in it and when I would fire the truck up, the hose came apart at the splice. With the new carburetor, I did a new hose and it would choke out just like you are mentioning. Ended up putting a new PCV valve on it and it runs like a champ now.
