2 questions - Tail light harness & Interchangeable Parts

Looking over the truck (1979 sidestep Silverado) I picked up last year, and I noticed the tail light harness needs to be replaced. Looks like previous owner did some splices or maybe an animal chewed into it. Do you guys know of any other models/years that are a compatible replacement to this one?


This leads me into another question. The junkyards around me tend to have either several C10's in the yards, or none. Seems like they have none when I need something.

I was looking at one of these guides. Does anyone have experience with them? Are they worth the $40 or are there better options?
