new tires, what do you think

I got a real good deal on 36x12.5/16.5 swamper tsl/sx tires. I had some old school slots (16.5x8.25) in my attic for about 12 years and thought maybe these will look good. The mfr recommends a 16.5x9.75 rim though.

So, what do you think? I love the slots, but I almost had clearance issues with the dana60 brake caliper. I will get a better picture of the slots this afternoon.

The tires are tucked under the fenders.

Re: new tires, what do you think

I like it. More pics please! I just recently put 33x12.5-15's under my truck and they are kind of like yours in the sense that they don't hang outside of the fender a whole lot.

Re: new tires, what do you think

I had em on a 16.5x6.5 dually wheel. They were fun tires to have. I'd toss some 1.5" wheel spacers on the back to match track width. For looks only really.

Re: new tires, what do you think

I have 16.5 Swampers, 33's though. And I have slotted mags, so I love the look. Looking forward to seeing some better pics of yours.

Re: new tires, what do you think

Nice! back in the late 80' early 90's I had 15x10 Alcoa's with 39.5 swampers. I loved the look and sound. Nothing better than the sound of flat spots on bias ply tires before they rounded up!!

Re: new tires, what do you think

Thanks for all the positives. Here's the rims before I had the tires mounted. These things are heavy too. I bought them off of a board member about 12 years ago. Also, I have only gotten up to about 50 mph, no vibrations. A couple of the tires took 13 ozs to balance, the shop used weights for semi rims.

Re: new tires, what do you think

I like those rims. I forget who made those. It's funny, back then they recommended wider wheels than they do now. Used to be a 12.50 was too wide for an 8" rim.

The wheels lend to the classic/retro value of the Blazer design. Here is a picture I've had saved for years
