Surgery update

Had my surgery on the 19th of July.
Original fusion from 98 was at L5/S1.
Needed a little more work than expected this time when they got in there.
Had to work on L1/L2-L2/L3-L3/L4 with some clean up at S1/S2.
May not be able to post for a while as sitting is literally a PITA.
Hope to be back ASAP.

What they said. Take the time off to get healed up right. Physical Therapy is usually the key, that and time.

I had back surgery in '07. Spent five months with pain that moved to agony as my right leg and foot went from tingling to fully locked and cramped 24/7. Couldn't sit, couldn't walk. I only had about three hours a day where I could do anything at all and that was using three different painkillers. Still have pain in my leg and foot, especially when driving, but it's bearable and much better than pre-surgery.

I truly hope you get some relief.

Take care of yourself and do all the physical therapy they prescribe and no heavy lifting .I just finished my physical therapy other than what I do at home .Im now pain free after the surgery and back at work now for 3 weeks but light duty for a good while longer.I wish for you the same results that I had as I used to hurt really bad all the time.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys.
Doctor says slow and easy for a while and then just be very careful from here on out.
Looking forward to getting off the pain meds as I don't like how they make me feel.
Already weaned off the Valium just need to get rid of the Percocet.
Body functions are working again so that's a positive sign.

Hang in there, you will get better. Good advice so far, listen to the doc and don't push it, i went through some back issues last year and didn't listen and lost some feeling in my leg because of it.

A physical therapist has been coming out three times a week and says I'm doing good.
My Doctor has very strict protocols on what he wants done and when so it will be a while but should be worth the time and effort.
Miss being able to work on the truck but all things in time.

Every day is a little better.
Lots of walking and nothing else until the doctor says it's o.k.
Been keeping up on everyone's build threads just not posting as sitting is still a bit uncomfortable for long periods.
Seeing the Doctor on Thursday and hope he says I can start more PT even though I know it will mean more pain but I know I have to go through it to get better.
Been able to do without the pain meds for a week now so that's a big plus.
