I was told that on the tilt the detents are internal and the shift lever actuates them.

I bought my new lever but still have not installed it yet, I have a TH350, that tranny has detents in it so i adjusted the linkage without the lever when i installed it, it will be interesting to see if the addition of the lever will make me have to readjust the linkage, but i figure i may loosen the linkage to find out.
