Led front and rear issues
I installed hyper white led front turn signals and had stock tail lights and everything was working fine. Last week I installed on my 86 stepside LMC led tail lights and notice the flasher was going slow.
So now driving the truck for the first time, I noticed I have no drivers turn signals ( it's lights up very dim on the dash but nothing outside. When I put the hazards on they both work but if I step on the brake, the lights stay on. I already changed the flashed for turn signals ( not the hazards ) to a stronger flasher and still same problem. I really don't know what to do but change back to regular bulbs |

Re: Led front and rear issues
Is there enough amp draw to make the blinker relay work..maybe?..but usually leds blink faster..I put all leds in mine and didn't have any issues..

Re: Led front and rear issues
100% correct, normally leds make it go faster so it's a little weird. It only happens when I change the tails out and all wiring is exactly the same from factory ones. We'll find out when I put the new flashers with no minimum load in.
I do sell electrical supplies and it's actually very similar to led lighting in residential. |

Re: Led front and rear issues
Awhile back I tried LED's and had problems. Someone said they had to have load resistors. I never tried it myself, but someone did, and they still had issues. Here's a thread about it.

Re: Led front and rear issues
It's a bummer, cause I really liked the look of the led's. I even did the flasher relay, they say you need to use led's, that didn't help. I'm sure there is a way, but it wasn't worth the time/money/effort, it would have taken to get them to all work.
I do have all led's on the interior and haven't had any issues with that. My cluster has led's. The courtesy light under the dash, I added a set, which gave me 3 lights total. Those are all led's along with the dome light. And the the door sill has a blue Bowtie led light that lights up, when the door is open.

Re: Led front and rear issues
I guess I just got lucky..and I never get lucky..but mine has all leds front to back and I havnt had a single issue with mine..I have read somewhere on this forum where someone was having trouble with leds and they additionally wired some regular bulbs into the harness and tucked them up under the bed out of sight to fix their problem..can't remember who it was..

Re: Led front and rear issues
I quess I should have added to the comment above, that once I went back to the stock bulbs, the problems went away.

Well here's the scoop, I just got my " no minimum load led Flashers " in and just smacked it in for the turn signals and hazards. Turn signals now work perfect in aspect to turning left or right on. The hazards are still doing same issue ( foot on brake and lights stay constant ) Now here's the weird part, headlights go on and right turn signal does nothing. Indicator light shows very dim but nothing happens. Truck is more drivable now but just don't turn on right signal with lights on and they work. I could buy LMC (2 for $30) but I've been actually unhappy with them. $1,100 in parts and just nothing going right and cheesy. I just don't know |

Re: Led front and rear issues
Brake lights will over ride the hazards. For the driver that pulls away with hazards on, people behind wouldn't know when the brakes are applied.

Re: Led front and rear issues
Now that's smart! So in the end, only problem with lighting is headlights are on m- right turn signal doesn't work.
I think I could deal |
