Seat belt bolt

I have a 1971 SWB Fleetside with bench seat. It has the original driver and passenger retractable 2 point seat belts. I ordered an original looking lap belt for the middle seat of the bench from Brother's truck parts.

My question... Can I use the stock bolt to add the lap belt or do I need one with a longer 'shoulder'? If I need a longer one, does anyone know where I can find one?

Thank you for the help!!!

Re: Seat belt bolt

I put my bench seat back in last summer (with middle belt) and I think you'll be OK with what came in the truck........

If nothing else, "ttt"

Thank you, did your truck originally come with a middle belt?

Yes it did. Now dad could have put that in there, but he never said anything about it.

The bolt's weren't that long as I recall....I suspect you will be OK. If not, you should be able to get a working substitute bolt pretty easily. I think the bolts were grade 5.

Re: Seat belt bolt

My '68 C/10 Stepside came with OEM middle seatbelt. They share the inboard mounting bolts from the Passenger and Driver's belts.

Same as my '72 K20. The only reason I'm sure is that I just replaced the OEM belts with new 3-points (with center lap belt).

Thanks for the help guys! I understand to use the same mounting location. My question is more is it a different bolt (longer, longer shoulder?) when using a center lap belt. I was just wondering if my OEM bolt used for just driver/passenger seat belts going to be long enough to use with driver/center/passenger seat belts. Thanks again!

Re: Seat belt bolt

ok , the outside uses a short bolt anytime you have 2 belts bolted to the same location they use a longer shoulder bolt . cars/ trucks/ go carts / etc,etc

Re: Seat belt bolt

You can try the double belt ends in one bolt first. Doesn't make sense for the manufacturer to have 2 different size bolts on the production line. But I'm guessing here.
