Factory rear slider? You tell me $250

Plus Shipping

I removed this about 1990 and put it in my attic, I think it's factory but not sure, I posted a question in the talk section and someone said they were GM vendor installed. You tell me. Here are some pics. Glass itched similar to our factory windows but different name, etc. Sliding channel felt is like the side windows in the rear.

The slider is the same as the one in a 72 I have. I bought it from the original owners granddaughter. Truck was very original, I even have the tailgate that was removed when the truck was new for the addition of a camper.

Cool, thanks for the pic of the SPID and the information. I thought it was original but back then didn't pay much attention to the glovebox sticker.

I'm not sure year to year, but I know '72s used that latch and it's the same latch used in K/5 sliding side windows through '91.

Lots of info here, I appreciate it. So your saying the plastic latch is blazer till '91.

I have had these before and thought they had the metal latch too...maybe an earlier one?

Re: Factory rear slider? You tell me $250

Metal latch is original for an OEM slider and the period correct first gen double pane slider windows I have also have metal latches. The plastic latch is likely a replacement but slider looks to be correct. Here's an example of what the metal latch would look like http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hlight=Sliding

If the frame pieces at the bottom corners are not welded together but affixed with screws that supports a factory slider as does the etching you show in the pic. See pics of an OEM example here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...7&postcount=10

The latch is the same as the one in my 72. Would like to have the slider. Someone drilled holes in mine for a gun rack. You would have to be very flexible on the price though. Good luck with your sale.

Re: Factory rear slider? You tell me $250

Thanks for the info, if your interested then make an offer! Please make it plus shipping so I know what I will be getting for it. I have a UPS account and shipping hasn't been outrageous so far. I also picked up another truck last weekend with the same slider and its on the SPID...

Re: Factory rear slider? You tell me $250

If I'm wrong I apologize but I made use of several OEM sliders when I rebuilt one and they catch my attention when posted as I like them. I've got one in the k20 and put one in the k1500 both w metal latches and the blazer sliders have the same as I mentioned. The original slider in the k20 was beat up badly and the NM sun is very harsh - it did have a black plastic latch though. Given the abuse the window suffered I have a hard time believing it was OEM over a replacement piece. I will follow posts and collect examples pics of sliders in an attempt to clarify the issue.

Black metal latches are available and Southco still makes what looks to be plastic examples http://www.southco.com/en-us/07/07-10-201-12

Its not uncommon to see sliders listed as OEM that are close matches but not OEM.

Not mine - pic of a slider I bought from another member. Sorry to hijack your thread btw!
