Anyone use the heater box gasket from GMC Paul's?

That round gasket that glues behind the fan and socks up against the front of the cab: I have the one from GMC Paul's and intend to use it in the coming days. Has anyone here used it?

Is it "up to snuff?"

Re: Anyone use the heater box gasket from GMC Paul's?

I can't speak for Pauls gasket.

But what I did too install it was used 3m weather strip glue(just a thin smear around its seating).
A large diameter worm drive hose clamp(not cranked on just snug)

A good clean flat surface and a book or two too level out the heater box.
Once clamped I put the box gasket side "down" and put just a lil' weight between the core tubes too help keep the gasket seated. Let dry

I suppose you could try a large/long zip tie instead of a hose clamp.
This worked for me.

Oh geeze! I had not thought of how it would need to be clamped while the sealer was drying. Thanks! I guess reinstallation will have to wait one more day.

Anyone else? Hate to glue this thing down and then regret it.

Well good! I somehow ended up with two of those and I read on here that the one from Classic Industries is more like the size of the original but I don't want to have to order yet another gasket.

I'll go with the one I have (GMC Paul's). Thanks man.
