Problems with new 700r4 TV Cable
I just put a GM TV cable on my 700r4 because the O'Reilly one I bought was not keeping it's setting.
Anyway, I got this new one on and I'm trying to adjust it but something is not right. I have tried to adjust it and still can't get the thing to shift. I get up to about 25mph and let off because I don't want to jack up the RPMs too much. I know the cable is attached to the tranny because I've checked that twice. I've followed the instructions here --> http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/drivetrain/tvcable.htm and have tried to bring the shaft towards the firewall and I'm about at the end and still nothing. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing this?

I'm gathering you need to lower shift points. If so, you are going the wrong way. To lower them, move the housing toward the front. Toward the firewall raises shift points. This is why it's not wanting to change gears.

Man, I tried that and had no luck. I brought the shaft all the way back out and couldn't get it to shift. Ugggh!

You sure it's still hooked up inside the tranny? Follow the article exactly to see if it will shift at all.
