Re: dash pad cover from lmc - anyone have one?

I received the entire dash pad assembly for Christimas. Black. My truck parks in the sun everyday but the pad has yet to have faded. It;s only been 6 months though, so don't rely on that totally.

It feels nice though like it has quality to it.

You do realize that a dash pad cover is differtn from the entire assembly right? It means using your old dash pad and reupholtering it or wrappig it or whatever. The dash pad assembly just bolts right up to the dash.

There is a plastic cover that slips over the old nasty dash pad, I've heard quite a few ppl on here talk good about them.
I would look elsewhere than LMC though personally. I'll bet a punch in the gut a board vendor can beat there price, and when you open the box, it'll probably be what you wanted instead of a ford door panel or spomething just as stupid... like LMC does.

Or even send you the wrong ignition spacer

Just like the other three companies did.

Or try www.manestruckparts.com I believe they are a board supporter. $80 for the real thing.

Catch a BB vendor at a swap meet and you'll pay more than $40.00 for a dash pad but less than you would think.I gave about $75.00 or so but it probably is much better than the cover.I have heard some claim they don't look good to begin with and last less than 6 months.

Re: dash pad cover from lmc - anyone have one?

I have an LMC dashpad assembly. I paid 150 bucks. It appears to be good quality but not constucted the same as the original. The core is fiberglass as opposed to the steel core of the original. I haven't seen the dash pad covers yet, so I cannot comment on them.

Re: dash pad cover from lmc - anyone have one?

I got my dash pad, I think I paid 80.00. Needed medium green (518) and the green only comes in the Olive Green color. I painted mine, had NAPA mix up an aerosol can of 518 and 'Voila':

That's encouraging! I bought one from LMC (color black) in 2003 but never got around to putting it on (apparently it's not that easy). If yours is high quality perhaps mine is too.
