Rear shocks too short?

Hi all,
I have a 72 Chevy pickup three quarter ton I bought a set of shocks for GMC Paul's KYB gr2 performance rear leaf shocks but they seem to be two to three inches too short am I missing something? The old ones seem to be fully extended.

I guess the old shocks could be the wrong ones too. I don't have any off that I could check the measurements on. If someone else has some they bought but haven't installed yet hopefully they will measure them for you....
