Rear Brake Lines
Hi Guys..... I'm still tinkering with my old 82. Noticed the metal brake line running along the frame on passenger side looks very rusty in spots. Have any of you guys replaced this line? Does someone sell with correct bends, or do you fab your own? I see Classic Ind sells the lines over the rear diff.....but did not see the frame line.

I make my own, but most of the classic parts sites should have prebent lines. Napa usually carries lengths of straight line with ends already on them.

I made my own and it wasn't too bad at all to do.
It might be tuff to find a length that long that already has the ends as it was probably close to 8-10 feet. I bought a roll of line from NAPA and put tape on the ends while I was checking and re checking.

NiCopp (nickle/copper) line is extremely easy to bend & flare. Comes in coils and a trick is to roll the length between two pieces of plywood to straighten - where needed.

While you are in there you might want to replace the rear flex line if it has been a long time. I upgraded to stainless Russell lines when i rebuilt my entire system...if you have any hang ups search my threads on brakes as many members offered great advice and helped me through a couple of hick ups.
