Ordered all new gaskets, rings, and bearings for it. Should start putting it together the end of this week. I haven't touched the truck in 3 months, and I AM READY!!! Ordering some parts for it after I wake up from my nap today...it's 2:20am here. Plan is to have it running before the end of August. Don't forsee it to be a problem pending things go smooth with stuff that is out of my hands (engine builder, parts arrivals, driveshaft shop, etc.)
glad to see it\s all working out, woulda been a shame to stop this one

You've got a sweet looking truck. Hope you get the engine problems figured out, straightened out.

Re: Update on my 68...

Well, remember how I said the truck should be running by the end of August, pending nothing goes wrong.....yeh.

My buddy called me from the machine shop; pistons are worn out. SO....new forged rods and pistons are on order. Very irritating! By now the motor should have been done and bolted between the frame rails! Oh well, was planning on a turbo setup the end of this year, or first part of next year, so all is well I guess! Still no pics, as I can't really do anything until I get the motor back.

Re: Update on my 68...

Being that this truck has some history with this thread...figured Id update it a little. The truck is now on the road with a 5.3/4L60E. It has changed owners a couple times but its cool to look back at this thread and see where it started coming together. You can check out my build thread of the truck here under the lsx swaps page.
Currently the truck looks like this...
