WTB: Complete V8 Throttle Linkage - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

We are converting out I6/3-sp. manual to a 350/700R4 and we need the complete throttle setup from pedal to carburetor for our '70 Chevy. Hopefully I can find someone nearby (92860 - So. Cal.) to save on shipping $$$.

so that would be the rod type rather than the cable, correct?

Errr...well, I dunno. Is there a cable version as well as the rod type?

I have the rod type with the existing I6 setup. I was thinking of retro-fitting a later model cable type if it wasn't too much of a job, but someone suggested that I try to locate an NOS V8 setup, so I thought I'd explore that avenue as well.

The '72's have a cable throttle. A little safer with respect to throttle bind & no pedal studs required in the floor. The pedal hangs on a bracket. Somebody here will have one for sale reasonably priced.

The firewall area where the pedal is is very different between the 72 cable type and the earlier rod type. It's very easy just to make a longer rod for the V8 swap and keep your existing rod type pedal. It only takes a couple of minutes to do it.

the first type is the rod type, which you probably allready have on your truck. All you need to do is lengthen the rod to the carb.
The 2nd is the cable type, which you probably don't have, unless someone changed cabs.
