Hood Latch Rebuild ??

Anyone every rebuild their hood latch??? Seems the spring to the "safety" catch is broken. Just wonder if anyone as ever repaired their old one or do I trash it and buy new ???

If you mean the latch on the grill area you cannot buy just the latch, you have to buy the entire panel, kinda sucks. I went to Ace and found a spring to replace the original. If you do this, keep in mind the original spring is really stiff so don't get a soft one.

Not sure we are talking the same latch... here is the latch with the broken spring... havent looked at ACE..

Sorry i was talking about an AD style latch. The latch you show is different from mine. I would still suggest Ace, they have all kinds of good stuff for that if you can think out of the box. I am sure you could find a good used one somewhere.

To my knowledge that's as close to a rebuild kit your going to get. The spring looks very close, for $16 I'd give it a try
