New burb owner
So my aunt gifted me my deceased uncles suburban. It is a 1975 Scottsdale 4x4. I have lots of questions as it has lots of issues! It has a transfer case shifter that has hi,hi loc, Lo, lo loc, and n....what is it? No 2wheel drive? Where do I find engine codes to figure out motor that is in it? Thee will be more as time passes.nthanks for any help in advance.

Re: New burb owner
Thank you Buffy. I looked in the glove box, but it didn't say for the transfer case. Is the NP203 any good? My aunt told me it was the 3rd motor to go in it.

Re: New burb owner
The NP203 is ok. It's more than strong enough for regular use and occasional abuse but it doesn't get any love because it's a full-time 4wd xfer case and it's heavy. The full-time 4x4 part can be fixed by installing manual hubs if your uncle didn't already do so.

Do you mean the lock and free on the hub?

What's the best lift kit that includes springs not blocks? What size tires are y'all running out under what lifts?

For the best riding "off the shelf" springs, Tuff Country works well. But for the absolute best performing, best riding springs that flex like crazy offroad (that's a good thing) go with custom leaves. Alcan and Deaver come to mind. I don't like big lifts, so I went with 4" lift springs and 35" tires with a little trimming on the rear lower edge of the front fenderwell. There was still just a bit of rubbing when fully flexed out offroad, but adjustable bump stops fixed that.
