Need guidance on rear suspension options

Hi, I have a 1970 gmc 2500 with leaf spring rearend.

I'm wanting to run bags front and back. I am doing drop spindles in front and notching the rear. I need advice on options for the rearend. I am not trying to go fast, just cruise around and use it for lite truck work. I did some research but I'm starting to get lost in the weeds.

I am looking at air over leaf with 3 leafs left in. It's the cheapest but has its drawbacks plus I'm assuming limited travel.

I was looking at triangular 4 link using a universal weld on set as its on the cheap side but have no experience with the setup.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Re: Need guidance on rear suspension options

On a leafsprung C-10 like yours I would go with a parallel 4 -link. They are relatively easy to set up.

Re: Need guidance on rear suspension options

Here is a universal parallel 4-link install video. Its on a Ford, but the general install is very similar.

I'm almost done with my 4 link install. Relatively easy depending on what you buy I would imagine. And if you go bolt-on vs. weld-on. I installed the bolt-on but will be welding it in prior to powder coat. The only real issue that I have struggled with is determining the exact ride height while working on a bare frame.

You could do http://www.nolimitengineering.com/pr...tegory=6157532 or a 3 link http://www.nolimitengineering.com/pr...tegory=6157532

Re: Need guidance on rear suspension options

Thanks for everyone's reply. Would a factory trailing arm be better for daily driving with airbags? Is a 4 link like the fatbar setup overkill for a daily driver?
