Short answer is no...You'll need to install a Posi Carrier with the ring and pinion ratio you decide on. If your going with a 3:08 ring & pinion combination, any series 3 posi carrier will work. Personally, I wouldn't consider any posi unit other than the Eaton Posi for 12-bolt (truck)...I'm assuming you have a 12-bolt, there is a 10-bolt unit as well. And if your interested in a 3:08 ring and pinion combo, I have a perfectly good set for a 12-bolt I would trade for a 3:73 combination if you split the shipping costs? Heres the tried and proven "Eaton Posi" for your truck, you would need an installation kit, I'd suggest the "Master Installation Kit" offered by Yukon to utilize the "Super Shims" that come in that kit... http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/3717112...&ul_noapp=true and heres the installation kit, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=A1COIXT69Y8KR ~Ghostrider~ PS. You dont want a locker unless your full time drag racing or off road....

NOT a Drag or Off Road racer so a Locker is out and the Eaton is I guess the chose. I haven't ID'd my rear end yet with checking numbers but If a picture is worth a 1,000 words then here is mine pic below.

Your offer sounds good but the truck has to be a driver for now. The 350 will not come in for awhile from now. As for the Eaton is there any #'s or does it look like non others do.

Re: Single leg to a Posi unit ?

I disagree with the locker not for the street. Plenty of guys (myself included) running a locker on the street.

FYI: About 6 or 8 years ago I helped a friend install a Richmond Lock Right Automatic Positive-Locking Differential (PN:1931-LR) in his S10 Blazer. It is a daily driver...never been on the drag strip or off road. His wife drives it too. Not one problem or maintence required since installed and is still driven daily. The differential is not permanently locked it disengages automatically when turning and automatically locks when going straight. I talked to him yesterday to verify what I am passing on to you. Best of luck to you. RonG
