Re: Finally found a home for my black steering wheel...

Well worth the wait Mark. Congrats on a great buy. It looks great. Still some factory paint on the bed wood?

Re: Finally found a home for my black steering wheel...

Thanks Pete. Not sure bed wood paint is original. It got a new motor and paint job in 84, hasn't been redone since - assuming the passdown is correct. Sure looks original or, at the very least, original 84. Looks like the repaint was thorough and a decent one, too bad it covered up that med olive roof! But didn't matter, that's just icing on the cake. Just starting to dig into it. The guy from CO had it 3 years and it looks like the owner before that had it quite a while - lots of old registrations in the glove box.

Very cool truck! It is interesting to me that the dash pad is green...I thought all tilt column trucks got a black dash pad to match the column. Do you think the pad is original? Green or black paint between windshield and dash pad? Is there green carpet under the floor mat? Asking all these questions because I'm thinking of doing my Cheyenne Super interior just like yours.

Re: Finally found a home for my black steering wheel...

Thanks 402Bowtie - Dash pad should be green, even for a tilt column truck which always had a black column and wheel. Mine looks like it may have been replaced at some point, but green is the right color. The space between pad and windshield should be satin green painted to match the pad, although some black ones seem to pop up here and there, usually repaints (note that my defrost vents are green as well). No carpet at all, a po installed a rubber floor mat after removing the carpet, I believe he mentioned this mat was from LMC but it does look fairly old. I will reinstall correct green carpet at some point, but probably not for a while. Thanks again!
