1969 c10 - 327

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I recently picked up a 1969 SWB c10. The truck appears to be all original. It has a 327 and 3 on the tree - advertised as original motor and transmission. Vin is CE149A805002. Which confirms is a 1969, 2wd, and came with a v8.

Most of the information I can find online states that Chevy ditched the 327 in the c10 in 1969 and replaced with the 350. Does anyone have any information they could share or point me in the right direction for research? Thanks!

Re: 1969 c10 - 327

My experience is that the '68 model year saw the 327 replaced by the 307. Most likely the 307 is motor installed in your '69 same as mine.

The cars saw 327/307 changeover in '69. Early '69 Camaro base cars came with 327 while later (January of '69?) cars saw the 307 as the base V8.

Re: 1969 c10 - 327

Look in on the inside surface of your glovebox and see what the option sheet (SPID) lists....It should say and be listed there.
If it does not list a motor size (ie: 350, 396...327?), then it is the base V-8...which would be a 307.
Apart from that, what code (letters/numbers) is stamped on the front left portion of the block...just below the front of the passenger side head.
