90 Degree Valve Cover Fitting

I asked once before so I'll keep it short this time. What can I use in the passenger valve cover hole that is 90 degrees? I basically need 90 degree, 3/4 fitting. Was told the factory (straight, no bend) fitting is a fire suppressor. Whatever it is I just need something with a 90 in it to replace it due to having changed my air cleaner base. Thanks.

Are you asking if there is a PCV valve with a 90 degree elbow on it?

It's not really a pcv valve, that's the issue. I want a replacement for whatever the thing is with a 90. Again, I was told it is a fire suppressor. It just needs to let air be sucked through it into the valve cover, so it's kind of a pcv valve in reverse.

Maybe. The factory piece has baffles in it - I am assuming this is the "fire suppressant". Do you think that thing is 3/4? It looks pretty rough BTW.

Okay, I did some research.

The hose that goes from the valve cover to the air cleaner spacer, is a flame arrester (Arrestor) spelled either way. The piece that seats in the valve cover grommet, is actually called the arrester from the GM manual.

The manual states, " A flame arrester is installed in the right rocker arm cover on V-8 engines and in hose between rocker arm cover and air cleaner on inline engines".
The baffles however, are to prevent oil consumption to my understanding.

There is slim pickings on what actually fits in that hole. Most everything I've found is a chromed breather. Your options are to find the original grommet, and bend your own metal pipe, leave the original design intact, or add a breather.

Is this what you are looking for? You can find them on ebay. I had to use it to route the hose around my Edelbrock carburetor.

I guess that would work. Again, my factory piece has some sort of baffling in it. The nipples are the same size but it's fat in the middle. Dunno if the baffling is needed.

That ebay piece looks pretty rough as well. The one in your pic look decent.

Mine was a used OEM part I found on ebay. The original part was a straight nipple with no baffles, but there is a baffle in the valve cover.

Really hard to spend almost 20 bucks on a effn plastic elbow. One guy is selling a NOS one for $120 on ebay!!!!!!!! I'm wondering if one these marine jobs would do the trick. I know it's only a few dollars less, but again - it's just an elbow!
