Fuel Filter or what?
So I'm changing the oil in the truck today and notice what looks like an electric fuel pump and filter on the rail. Weird cause I have never heard it run but I went in for a closer look. Sure enough its an electric pump and filter right before it. I took a picture and kept moving with the oil change and lube. I didn't check to see if there was still a stock pump on the block but I will do so tomorrow. I just assumed I had a mechanical pump cause I never had a reason not too, but now I'm not so sure.....LOL. Anyway, while I was under there I noticed another weird looking part in front of the pump I had never seen before. Anyone know what it is? Is it a post-pump filter? Second picture is just the filter and pump I never knew I had...lol.

More pictures would be good. I can't figure out how the items in your 2 pictures are related/connected. Follow the line all the way from tank to carburetor and let's see what you have. Which items have electric wires? Your system could need attention such as replacing filters and hoses.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a sediment bowl. Usually they are glass, but for underchassis mounting, I guess that wouldn't work so well.

The line comes from the tank selector switch and goes to the filter, then the pump, then the mystery item. This picture shows the line coming out of the pump and going into the mystery item. From there it heads to the front of the truck. Only the pump has power going to it, nothing else. The truck runs and idles fine. No issues what so ever.

You say: "The truck runs and idles fine. No issues what so ever." Maybe time to remember the famous old saying: "Carburetor--a French word, means Leave it Alone" Or, if it ain't broke, don't muck with it.

It screams regulator, but without truly inspecting the thing and seeing a dial/knob/screw adjustment, it's a guess.
