Re: Got A '95 Suburban
My 95 has 281,000 trouble free TBI service. You probably knock on Quadrajets too.

Re: Got A '95 Suburban
I've only had one other and my experience has been they just go and go. I sold that one at 193,000 trouble free miles.
I missed the sound of a gas motor. That last hard winter in '14 made me want a break from diesels. I wanted a K2500 with utility bed but Suburbans go for much less than trucks. I can carry my tools weather proof & secure without doing any upfitting. Just had to get the privacy tint

Re: Got A '95 Suburban
I removed the emblem from the tailgate. It took some paint with it so had to sand it out and patch paint it. I have a little plan for that spot.

Re: Got A '95 Suburban
I see you've kind of fallen off this thread, but were those tires 255/85's?

Re: Got A '95 Suburban
Yes, they are Cooper Discoverer S/Ts. They changed them since. I used 7" Ford wheels. About due for a new set now.
About that gutless TBI 454. It's what sat under that TBI that was gutless. The TBI can supply an engine producing well beyond (at least double) what your gutless wonder gave. I'm looking to run a Vortec engine in mine while retaining the ole reliable TBI

Re: Got A '95 Suburban
Good looking Burb!
I'll second that statement on the 454 TBI being a good EFI platform. I had one installed on an oval port headed 454 with a bigger cam and it ran strong. The stock peanut port heads are very power limited. I currently have one on my Caddy 472 and its a strong runner too.
