Jon - I don't know if Columbia, MO qualifies as local or not but if you are looking for a section of floor to repair a floor you already have I can most likely help you out, depends on size of piece needed, I have several. Let me know, Jay

Re: WTB section of bed floor

I'm looking for a 10" strip to make an 8' floor fit a longhorn bed. Your not local but I might have an inspector coming from MO to a job here.

How much would you want for it....might even be able to sandwich it between strips of plywood.

So, you need a 10" wide strip that goes all the way across the width of the bed at the rear? I will look to see if I have a piece that will work for that and let you know. I know I have several smaller pieces, but will have to check on a longer piece. Jay

Yes, I don't need 10" but it's a safe amount so I can trim it down to fit. It doesn't matter where it's from (front or back) I'm going to install it between the supports in the front.

Here are photos of one piece I have, it is difficult to tell from the photos but it is right at 12" long by full width of the bed wide (6 ft):

Please let me know if either of these will work for you. $50 for either piece. Jay

Re: WTB section of bed floor

How bad is the pitting on the full width piece?

Not terribly pitted - looks like surface rust only. I think I had a picture or two of the whole piece, but somehow those didn't transfer when I downloaded the photos to my computer. I can go back and check my phone to see if it is still there.
Main problem areas are where the PO torched or ground off the heads of the bolts holding the bed in rather than unscrewing them. I think I included good pictures of that area in what I posted.
I have a smaller piece of floor - maybe 10" by 14" - that I could include for you to patch those areas with.
Hope all that explanation helps, Jay

Re: WTB section of bed floor

Can you pick at it with a small flathead to see how deep they are? The picture makes it look worse than it is?

I will take another closer look at it, but it will have to be Sunday afternoon at the earliest as we are leaving right after a doctor's appointment for the weekend. Will try to get some more photos then. Jay

Got a chance to 'pick at it' with a screwdriver and nothing is rusted through. However, the pits are deeper than I thought in a couple of places. Camera not working right now - sorry no pics. Jay
