GMC Gauge Question
I found a decent 1966 GMC truck I'm considering. I'm wanting to do an LS swap, but from I'm reading the gauge companies like Dakota Digital don't support the GMC. What is the reason for this?

Re: GMC Gauge Question
Not that many out there compared to the Chevy's. Also the way the GMC panel it does not lend itself to a full panel set of gauges. They do have some universal sets that could be adapted tot he GMC.

Re: GMC Gauge Question
I'm working on a solution for this, but it's slow-going. In the process of selling a rental property that should free up time and money afterwards that I can refocus on my pickup, which will include finishing this prototype. You can see progress I've made so far in the attached link:

Re: GMC Gauge Question
I was at Fig Speed and seen a Racepac and the gears were spinning.

Re: GMC Gauge Question
These guys already have a GMC dash insert: http://www.boeseengineering.com/Shop...amp-2-1-16-quo and for $150 its a start.
I'm modifying mine instead, the third hole will get a tach and the two white gauges will be replaced. Those are the Dolphin gauges everyone *****es about yet the set I have worked perfectly fine in the 55 Bel Air they came out of, besides cant beat the 50 bucks I paid for them. I just ground and smoothed until they fit, I haven't decided what goes where yet. but the Eqiuus go away and new Holley gauges go in. The Holley ones aren't cheap [119 out the door each] but match the Dolphin.

Re: GMC Gauge Question
Thanks for the posts/links it's great information. Atleast there are some options, I think fitting the racepack to one of the CNC molds wouldn't be too hard.

Re: GMC Gauge Question
Only issue with http://www.boeseengineering.com/Shop...amp-2-1-16-quo
is that it requires a hacked up original for the ring to hold it in place. Not a huge deal, just one flaw that keeps it from being a complete package. |
