Tow Mirrors

I found these mirrors on a 1989 large van. Does anyone know what they were called and if they were ever used on trucks?

I tend to see that style mirrors on 88-mid 90's 1 tons but have seen them on 1/2 tons. Most times they are on lower optioned trucks but I believe they could be ordered on any trim level. Some people will call these west coast mirrors but not sure what GM called them for the 88+ trucks.

Thanks for the response. The mirror head appears the same with the difference being painted white v. what appears to be stainless steel. The bracketry is clearly different. I see that type of brackets all the time as well.

I ordered them on my '92 when I had it built. It was a fully loaded SLE with off road/towing/camper packages. I still have the window sticker and can get te "official" name and code if you need. I always called them towing mirrors or Camper mirrors. I believe they were a stand alone option, but would be ordered for either camper trucks or tow rigs. They were available on any C/k series. I also have them on my '95 K2500 Suburban. Funny part about that is it didn't even have a tow hitch. I took the standard mirrors off my '95 K3500 and installed these on that, too, when I was building it. I like the function as well as the traditional truck look brought onto the modern body design

The name of the mirrors would be great. However, the mirrors that I pulled are painted and the brackets are different -- I think it may be a van thing.

I'll start look into my file cabinet for the window sticker. Pretty sure they called them camper mirrors. Of course with all RPOs, it's the code that counts. GM stopped offering painted type in the GMT400s. This style mirror began use during the 67-72 design...painted or stainless. They were available on any c/K model, meaning K/5 and Suburban as well. I think they are no different than the ones you have off a van. The 70-72 type had separate lower braces while the '73-87 type those were all one piece.
