Re: Replacement body parts
You got it! I work Sunday night and can drop it off Monday morning. I'll just leave it by the door. I already gave the passenger to Joe at Cindarella Customs or I would have given it to you. It was in a lot better shape then I thought but didn't find out till I got it off and had the new one ready to go on.

Re: Replacement body parts
I have noticed that nobody has mentioned Dynacorn. Has anyone played with their complete panels? I just bought rockers and outer floors for a customers 66 and the body guy liked them and the worked showed. I have sold a few complete fenders to customers but no real feed back. I know Dyanacorn tools all their products here in the USA and also buys all their metal from the USA as well.

Re: Replacement body parts
I also got both front fenders along with both inner fenders from Fixmyrust.com and got free shipping. They are a dealer for Keyparts in Lynchburg, VA which is where my parts shipped from.

Re: Replacement body parts
I was very lucky when I put mine together. I spent the last 4-5 years just upgrading parts so I have maybe 3' of floor that is repopped and everything else is OEM down to the NOS rockers. I just don't have the time to fix bad parts, I would rather pay up and use my time elsewhere.

Re: Replacement body parts
I wasn't so lucky with mine but I'm almost done with the cab. Just finishing up the rear cab supports then she gets all cleaned up. In my opinion the reproduction rear cab supports are terrible. You would be almost better off making your own. The front cab supports are from another truck that I bought from a member here on the forum and they worked out awesome.

Re: Replacement body parts
I would love to use NOS or salvage yard parts but I couldn't find any decent fenders and NOS would be waaaaay too expensive if I could ever find a set. I'm happy with these fenders. I did find out the my inner fenders are starting to bubble up on the top front but I can fix that I hope.

Re: Replacement body parts
For the lower rear quarter, you can use a patch panel for a pickup. Since your panel is a long wheel base, you will need a patch panel for a longbed pickup.

Re: Replacement body parts
AMD is supposed to be THE way to go. Used to just do MOPAR, but they've expanded now.

Re: Replacement body parts
We should keep in mind that while AMD claims to make some parts, virtually everyone else just distributes other maker's parts. That means regardless of who you buy from, you generally get Tri-plus bits.
We should also keep in mind that imperfect parts are better than no parts. |

Re: Replacement body parts
I work for one of the largest classic car and truck parts organizations. 99% of all reproduction parts are made in either China or Taiwan. Very few items are made here any longer, some wiring, carpeting, upholstery, and that's about it. All suppliers get their parts from the same two factories in the east, quality is hit and miss. So shop around for the best price and customer service, and use NOS parts or good used when you can find them. PS - There is only one supplier that was actually able to obtain some of the original GM molds for rubber items. Steele Rubber Products. Any rubber item, weatherstripping, that didn't come from Steele is from China/Taiwan.
You can tell where a part was made by the barcode, the first 3 digits are the country of origin. Here's further info and the list of country codes if interested - http://barcoding.com/blog/barcode-pr...try-of-origin/
