Striker Bolt

Well the door slaming is starting to anoy me so i got to looking at the striker and it looks like its not far enough out. Question is can i use just a big washer in there to make the bolt come out farther so it doesnt rub on the door? Or is it more a problem with the door?

The door looks like its in the opening straight and it has no play when lifting on it.

Here is a pic, it looks worse then it actaully is. It was really tight when i tried to loosen it so i had to use a pipe wrench which cut it up a bit but most of it was just paint over spary so it makes it look bad all chewed up.

But what you really need to see is the red circled area. It has worn down from not being in far enough when shutting the door.

Looks to me that your door hinge bushings are worn out, not that the striker bolt is in too far.

That's where a big Kentucky fit all works

I agree. The door is dragging on the latch and it's not supose to. With the door just open lift up on it and see how much it moves.

Help section at the parts store has a hinge repair kits.

If it's no slop then the striker needs to be moved down but I think your going to find it's hinges like 67-ss396 said.

im betting that the door hinge is off a hair with play in it.sometimes its easier to have a buddy move the door up and down whole you look. a good vise grip will get the striker out if its stripped in the torx part. they sell tose too at help i believe

yeah, I changed the bushings in my hinges, and know it closes easier now than when it came from the factory. I almost slam it too hard sometimes.
