Ridetech Coilover Kit w/porterbuilt potential?
I'm looking at the complete ridetech Coilover kit. One of my concerns is that the lower control arm from what I've read is about 2" from the ground at ride height.
Would. Porterbuilt drop member change this at all? Will the ridetech stuff work with a specific porterbuilt front member? Any issues with running the two together? I know the dropmember moves the wheel into the correct position, and ridetech claims there control arms also do it? So is running them together to much movement in the wheel well? Hope this makes sense Thanks |

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit w/porterbuilt potential?
I received a quick reply from porterbuilt.
"The Ridetech control arms will not work with our Dropmember. We mount the coil overs in a different location and use a different style lower control arm bushing. We also center the wheels with our cross member not the control arms. Thank you " Can anybody confirm what mods need to be done to run a porterbuilt front member and rear? For example stage 2? Does the trans tunnel have to modified? What kits require mods to body and bed? I will be running an Lq4 and a 4l80e trans |

You can get the dropmembers with coilovers it might be easier to buy it all from them.

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit w/porterbuilt potential?
I second buying it all from one vendor. Either choice you can't go wrong, though there are pros/cons to each. For what it's worth, the PB kit uses Ridetech coilovers.
If you decide to go with PB, Level 1 will be the least invasive and gains approx 1-2" of ground clearance. You can keep your inner fenders, bed floor, possibly low hump cab and stock mech fan. Level 2/3 buys 3" ground clearance, but gets pretty complex/spendy with needing inners, high hump, hood hinges, raised bed floor, rack notch, 2-piece driveshaft, etc, etc, etc. I just ordered a Lvl 1 coilover and will try to get away with doing as little 'extra' as possible. We'll see how that plan goes Email Dave @PB for specifics--he's super helpful (and patient).
