pressure plate for t5

Is it a problem if the outside diameter of pressure plate is larger than clutch disk? the inside diameter is appropriate.

I bought a clutch kit for matching year camaro t5 that I am currently installing. I go to bolt on the clutch/pressure plate and the bolt holes are not even close to flywheel. PP is a lot smaller. Anyways, the old clutch is the same size as new camaro clutch. If I go to use the old pressure plate with new clutch disk, does anyone forsee any problems? Would the throwout bearing be affected?

Thanks,
Mike

Shouldn't be a problem except that the old PP might be getting weak. The throwout bearing needs to match the pressure plate. If the new throwout bearing is the same height as the old one it will work OK. The Camaro probably used a 10 1/2 inch clutch and the trucks is 11 inch.

Thanks LockDoc. Looks like the new bearing is identical. I'm having a battle in my head whether I should just buy a new flywheel for piece of mind. I just had the old one machined too.

Re: pressure plate for t5

Why not just get the correct size pressure plate and clutch disc? That is how I would proceed.
