65 Project Phase 1
New to the forum and thought I should introduce myself here in the 60 - 66 forum. I picked up this 65 in NC this past April, rented a trailer and brought it home. By mid June it was on the road. Certainly not a rust free truck, I refer to it as rust reduced. After getting it home it was a matter of brakes, steering, a couple floor patches, cab corners and inner/outer rockers. Next was a new floor for the box as well as lowering it with cut coils up front and 3" blocks out back. The instrument cluster was cleaned up, and new levers for the heater controls installed. The 283 and 3 spd are working real well so far. We are referring to this as phase 1 as there are plans for a T5 as well as sway bars and some suspension upgrades. There are no plans of paint at this time as we are just having too much fun with it the way it is. I have included a few pictures just to show off the new toy.
