1980's fuel gauge VS EFI sender.
Another question on my 91 into 82 swap.
I bought a tank and pump from an 87 Suburban because those still used the rear tank between the frame rails, fit right in place of the original tank on the 1-ton GMC. When I turn the key on, the fuel gauge goes all the way up to and past full. The tank is nowhere near full. Wrong resistance range or is the direction inverted between a carb setup and TBI? I'm pretty certain I got all the wires properly relocated on the instrument panel connectors when I upgraded it from the original that only had a speedo and fuel gauge with idiot lights for everything else. Printed out the diagrams and changed one wire at a time. Looking things over, I could not see any reason whatsoever for GM to have used three different arrangements for the three different panels. Probably moved the wires around just to try and stop people from changing up to fancier stuff. Last edited by bizzybody; 09-17-2016 at 07:42 PM. |
