Buy yourself a 12volt 30 amp relay with the plug and 6inches of wiring included, from ebay. I paid 10.00 for two of them new. Use the old power resister wire to turn on the relay, without removing the resister. Run a new hot lead fused from the battery to the relay, and then relay to the distributor. Just did this upgrade 2 months ago, working good.
