I used the gas tank treatment kit. I haven't had a problem with rust in the fuel filter since.

I used it on a battery tray. Acid leaked on it and stayed wet for weeks with no sign of corrosion or paint peeling.

I just painted all the front suspension
components (new pieces) since I am going thru the front end now...I havent got them installed yet, but damn, it goes on nice, looks great...time will tell how well it all holds up...parts coated consist of: Pitman arm Idler arm inner & outer tie rod ends (no, I didnt paint the threads) upper & lower A-Arm shafts upper ball joints (top half only) Steering arm linkage (piece between rag-joint and steering column) it too looks great POR-15 states it is UV sensitive and will need top coated if exposed to UV, ie, sunlight...I dont think these parts will see much sun, so doubt I top coat. ------------------ 71 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleetside WAS:307w/3-on-the-tree NOW:350TBI/700R4/3.73 See it at www.prismnet.com/~grzanich

So it really works then? I plan on buying it and doing the underside of my cab, rockers, etc, to try and seal it up and keep it from rusting.

My 71 street is full of por-15. I've done the frame, inner panels (ALL of them), and motor.....yes motor. This stuff rocks!! it is probably THE most versitale product you can use to "clean-up" your projects. What is the best thing about this treatment is....very, very, very little prep work needed on old stuff. It is UV sensitive..., get the uv protectant stuff if exposed pieces are outside. It says "Paint-over-rust" but it really means "Paint-over-anything"

Used the POR on my 56 steering wheel. It gets really hard and makes sanding difficult (understatement). I'm going to dremel the high spots down to 1/16" below the surface and apply body filler because it's easier to sand to the complex shape of the wheel.

For those who used it, how much did it take to paint a frame and did you sandblast the parts

Sandblasted the whole frame. Took 3/4 of a quart to do two coats of por-15 on the frame. Took 1/4 to do all leaf springs , crossmembers, and gas tank. Looks great. Gonna wet sand and topcoat in a week or two.
