Truck Rally Wheels

This question is for the Rally Wheel gurus. I know there are 8" truck rally wheels but are there 7" rallys also or are they actually 6 1/2"? I believe they came on vans maybe the Astro vans? I've got 4 of the 6 1/2's, two on the front of my truck and two I'm getting ready to paint, but if I could get actual 7's I'd rather have them. Size is stamped on the inside of the wheel. It measures 4" back space and 3 1/2" front space. Thanks

They made 15x7 too. Not quite as common.

Re: Truck Rally Wheels

I can help you. The rallys came in 8's, 7's and 6 1/2. The 8's and 7's came on pickups and the 7's came on pickups with the lighter or base GVW Rating. as you said the 6 1/2's were mostly on vans. I've been buying and selling these rallys for years and although the 8 and 6 1/2 rims are plentiful the 7 inch are hard to find. I have a set on my 72 C10 and got lucky when I found them. The seller advertised them as 8 inch but didn't measure them properly and they turned out to be 7 inch. This is only pair of 7 inch I have ever found. If you are running a 235/75 15 tire like I am the 6 1/2's are a tad small and the 8 inch a tad big for that tire. Its real hard to tell the difference between a 6 1/2 and a 7 inch when a tire is mounted on the rim. The rims are stamped with the size on the backside lip but can be hard to see. The 7 inch are perfect for that tire. You may know this already but I'll say it in case someone doesn't know the rallys were never available on the 67-72 trucks and only came after 1973 on the square body trucks. The do look super on the 67-72's.

Looks like you got 2 posts as I was typing.

Re: Truck Rally Wheels

Well I'm not going to quibble about 1/2" since the 7's are so hard to come by. I plan to run either a 215/70 or 225/70 on the wheels so I should be okay tire wise. I really appreciate the quick response from you guys. Thanks

Re: Truck Rally Wheels

Those tires on front in the pic were 235/75r15. They looked just fine but a 215-225 would be better for those 6.5s. I personally dislike when a tire is a but wide on a rim.

Yea the 6.5's will work fine look good with the 235's but I'm the opposite of you I like a tire to pop a bit on the rim. My favourite is 255/70 15's on the 8 inch rallys.

Re: Truck Rally Wheels

A local junk yard here has about 100 sets of these laying on the ground for $20.00 each , But the old guy is the epitome of redneck hill billie and the foulest human being I think I've ever met . You can't stand within 10 feet of him .I've tried to buy parts from him and it's just such a chore I can't do it .His yard is filled with c-10's
