Rubber mats for rubber floor?? What to use?

My truck has a rubber floor instead of carpet, which I like. What I don't like is the fact that floor mats slide all over the place. I have some generic ones in there that were probably purchased from a WalMart etc. They have little rubber nipples that would work just fine on carpet but do nothing on top of rubber. Anybody know of anything that works?

Interesting question!

Could you try some double sided tape under your overlying mats?

Dont think that would work well and if it did I would end up with sticky residue on my brand new rubber floor. And I know it would be covered but still......

No adhesive can ever frighten a current or former ZEP Inc salesman.

I sometimes forget that not everyone has a few cans of Orange Gel Degreaser on hand. That stuff is amazing when it comes to dissolving old adhesive.

Go to a Toyota dealer and ask for floor mat retainers and grommets. They have a two piece grommet that goes in the floor and then a retainer that clips into them. Then put a hole in the floor mat and it will clip into the retainer, its what Toyota uses on their vehicles. If I have time I'll look for part numbers and maybe some pictures.

This is what I was talking about the retainers on the left and the 2 piece grommet is on the right. The two part numbers you would need are 58297-50020 and 08211-00720, any Toyota dealer should be able to get this for you.

No problem, I have a rubber floor on my 2002 Chevy plow truck and put these in to keep the floor mats in place, works great.
