74 C10 TH 350 Speedo Cable Question
There is a housing at the end of the speedo cable that connects to tranny. What is this for and what is the name? I have dealt with speedo cables before, but they were directly connected to tranny and no housing between. Also, does the housing have to be there?
TIA

Little offset aluminum box? If so its a factory ratio adapter. HTH Jay

Yes looks like a small aluminum box or gearbox. Thanks for the info. Does it have to stay or can it be removed and connect cable directly to trans?

Re: 74 C10 TH 350 Speedo Cable Question
If you clean it up, the ratio should be stamped on it. If it's 1 to 1 you should be able to remove it, if it's any other ratio, it will throw off your speedo if you remove it.
