Talking why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

bees, hornets and other bugs love my yellow truk
sometime i get swarmed by bees when i park it outside

i washed my truk the other day, wiped it down in the garage and came out the next day to find ''spots'' all over it
washed it again and same thing happened, then i noticed over 100 hornets in the window above truk
the little b@stards are dead now, i found their nest in the garage block wall 50 ft away

I hear ya. We have the same problem with the school buses, and they don't look anywhere near as good as truk.

Re: why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

Wonder why yellow is one of the most expensive colors of paint?

Re: why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

I used to sell paint years ago. Yellow is one of the hardest colors to get to cover and also one of the hardest to cover with another color.

when sherwin williams wanted in our shop the owner asked that sw sponsor the paint and clear on all sema cars and my truk
probably save me a good chunk of change

i believe my truk has at least 4 coats on everything
even then you can see some variation mostly in the trunk lid

Re: why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

yellow is a PITA. I painted an upstairs bedroom in our house yellow, it was white. 4 coats of expensive paint later I can still see the overlaps and stuff.

It took me years to convince our body shop to pick one formula for "National School Bus Yellow." While they were trying to get the best coverage for lowest cost we ended up with buses that were four and five different shades of yellow. It wasn't pretty.

Re: why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

The Pain, The Pain, In reading this! My Heart is set on painting my 58 Cameo
Corvette Yellow and plan on painting it myself.
I just got done blasting the cab and my inner metal bedsides and used Squeegs
Epoxy Primer on the cab and panels and it is "Yellow"
laying down that primer itself I thought i was going "Snow Blind"
Dang it.
Allen
by the way,Ogre and NickZ Love that "YELLOW"
Watch out were those Husky's go and don't you eat that Yellow Snow!

Re: why you shouldn't paint your truck yellow

this reminds me of the very first hot rod I looked at to buy; it was yellow. as I walked up to it, I saw all these black marks all over it, from a distance it looked like some special painting, but as I got close it was full of bugs!!! the owner said, sorry, this is why I'm selling. I passed!!!
