front suspension c-10 1960
I want to replace the front suspension for my 1960 to a 1972-87, but have a hard time to find one.
This is Norway and almost no one to find, but however there are a lot of 80s chevy vans that are rusted out, anyone know if the front suspension from these would fit. |

Re: front suspension c-10 1960
The full size van crossmember is wider than a truck crossmember, so that part will not work. However the control arms, spindles, rotors, etc are basically the same. The lower control arm shafts are different than a truck, but otherwise the same. If you could find a '63-'70 suspension crossmember, you could use that and bolt the van components to it.
I can understand the difficulty in finding the parts you need. Last month when I was in southern Norway I saw very few American trucks, or vans, new or old.

Re: front suspension c-10 1960
Hi. I have upper and lower a arms, spindles and rotors from a '72 g30. Did some poking around on the Moog site and found that the '71-'74 g10-g20-g30 vans use the same shafts as the truck. '75 and up van stuff has different part numbers. hope that gives you even more options. wish you were closer, I'd just give you what I have.

You had me worried for a minute Captian! I'm using the g30 lowers to mock up the sway bar on my truck.

Re: front suspension c-10 1960
I guess I should have been more specific. The different lower control arm shafte I mentioned were on an '80's GM G series van, specifically the G20, which is what the OP mentioned as having available to him.
Norway. It took 40 years for me to get to Norway and after having been there, my wife and I do want to go back. I'm just not sure when or if it will happen. As I'm sure you know, that is not a cheap trip.
