I tore my 89's bench seat apart to reupholster it and took pictures of everything but my phone died a horrible death before I got the pictures off of it. Now that it is time to reinstall the components I can't for the life of me remember how the pieces went together in the seat back pivot lock mechanism.
It is not like my other bench seat or the buckets I have and have not been able to find one at the wrecking yard to use as a reference. It has no external lever to pull to unlock the seat back but some kind of gravity control mechanism that locks the seat back in place if the seat is tilted. Small cast aluminum bell crank like piece, a pair of shoulder bolts and a flat washer. Shouldn't be that hard but it is kicking my butt. I at least was smart enough to keep the parts for each side separated and the cast aluminum piece is marked for R & L but other than that I am out of hints to the assembly orientation and bolt locations. Anybody have a bench seat like this one that could post a pic of the seat back pivot mechanism to help me out? I would post pics but I need to get a new phone first.
