pics of my 65 chevy truck

OK Ya'll here is a pic of my old truck. It's a 65 SWB Big Back Window Custom Cab. I've got the ECE 4 in. 6 in. drop, Running a 67 275 H.P. 327 that I hoarded for years for the right project. 700r4 trans w/a painless wiring kit that shifts into OD automatically. All the suspension is 72 Chevy PU. PS,PB all from a 72 donor. Factory A/C that a buddy "GSFMECH" and I pulled out of a 66 I bought just for the A/C. 72 PU engine brackets. Tilt column w/65 Corvette steering wheel that GSFMECHs' father had had for years. Will post some engine shots and interior shots later. It is also running the original paint. Really hate to start on it because still looks pretty good.

Here's an interior shot, it's also got a tach dash that I bought at the Pate Swap Meet a few years back.

Everyone seems to be going hi-tech, so I decided to go retro with the engine. Everything is stock, valve covers, air cleaner. Need to get to painting the booster and bracket.

That is one *****in ride. You nailed the stance perfectly. My old roomy had a 65 short-wide big back glass truck (including the all original faded white paint) & I loved to 'borrow' it as much as possible .

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I really like the retro (original) look of the engine. Real nice pickup! I can't really tell from the pics, but if those are the 327 rocker covers that have a slight groove front to back (I think that is the way I remember them), I like them better than any aftermarket style.

hobby67stepside, the valve covers are the ones w/chevrolet script on them. I think I know the ones you are talking about, they had a rectangular panel in the center for a decal, and a groove on each end.

Blue Beard the A/C is factory, using 72 Chevy PU brackets. Bought the compressor manifold from Kennys Truck Parts.
