Glad it made ya smile. It's why I posted it up. My buddy Barry has been fabricating a long time. He knew it was going to be a nightmare with the steering shaft and went ahead with it anyways. I wish I had a pic of the drivers side header as it is installed now. It's work of art and he had it repowdercoated after he was done. Wish I had his skills.

Hi I know this thread is a bit old now but I found it because I am in the same position you were. I was wondering if you were able to make them fit? And also how exactly you did it? I removed the oil filter and notched out part of the frame and still couldn't get in position.

Try as I might there was too much grinding cutting and struggling to get these in, I didn't want to start bashing on my new Ceramic coated headers either.
In short I choose to abandon having Hookers, stuck them on Ebay to recoup some money and went with a pair of Sandersons...perfect fit, apart from a small bit of trimming off the edge of the tranny bell housing on the passenger side.

Thanks for the quick response. Not the answer I was hoping for though haha. So confusing because half the guys say they fit great others say there's no way. I thought these trucks were roughly all the same ha. But it looks like mine is in the no go catergory. Thanks again for the quick response.

Re: Hooker Headers

I run 2455s in my 69 and i cant get them in or out without pulling the bolts in the mounts and lifting the engine up a bit with the cherry picker. Its alot of work but they look so good when they are in. The only fitment issue i had was the control arm like in your pic. I did beat them in just a bit so they wouldn't rub. Not what i wanted to do but if i remember right i had to beat a tube in when i put them on my chevelle as well, and they were made to fit that.
