Brake proportion valve

Is it possible that a brake proportioning valve not work to its full potential? I upgraded my disc brakes to the wilwood d56 calipers hoping to see a brake difference and it doesnt seem any better.

Unless you changed your friction material or increased the line pressure you won't notice and difference under normal driving. It may be noticeable under sever road and track driving due to the caliper not expanding like the stock calipers do. It makes little difference in one, two or 4 pistons at low speed normal driving. It does at high speed braking under a race condition, The braking remains repeatable with each application with the wildwood and does not with a GM stock caliper

I should of explained the situation. When I bought my blazer the brakes were shot on pass. side caliper and I prolly shouldn't of had driven it home that day. I had bought a new mc https://www.summitracing.com/parts/DHB-M71285 and kept the stock proportioning valve. Put wildwood calipers on the front and stock in the back. pads front and back are stock material.. I don't expect it to stop on a dime but when I step on it to do a short stop lets say from about 35 40 mles per hr. I expect it to stop good not have roll in it when I step on the brake to stop Like im moving and stopping at 60. Anyone have an Idea or am I nuts? lol..

I would start by jacking it up and put on jack stands. Make sure all four wheels and stopping. With a new proportioning valve I've seen them move out of the centering position and not allow fuild to front or maybe back brakes...Jim

With all these new parts I would not expect the brakes to perform until they had a chance to bed in.
