Does this part go on a power

drum brake set-up? (I have been working on my brakes and this forum has been a huge help but this one question I just cannot find the answer to so I found a good pic.) I bought this exact MC and put the large end of the big rubber thimble shaped boot over the end of the MC where it mates to the booster. Does it belong there?

Thank you and I apologize for not being able to find the answer.

Yes it's a dust boot for the pedal rod from inside the cab.It keeps dirt out of the piston on the MC and water out of the truck so its a dual pupose gasket seal.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Does this part go on a power

It will not be used on the power brakes only on manual brake systems

Correct sir it doesn't go on the MC if you are installing it on a booster, sorry I over looked that part. Its only when being used manually.

Re: Does this part go on a power

Master with deep hole is for manual brakes and uses the dust boot.

CPP sells a master with deep hole and provide a spacer plug so that it can be used with a power booster. If you know what you are doing and have a lathe, you can make your own spacer. If not, return it for the correct master.

No matter what you do, the adjustable pin in the booster must be checked and adjusted to fit the master.
