Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
Wow, a 6" front static drop would likely require a front dropmember. I think 5" is as low as most have been able to go and maintain a semblance of drivability. A member here, Lolife, can opine more on this subject.

Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
What does dropping just the last foot of the frame up front accomplish?

Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
My guess would be to keep the bumper mounting location where it would normally be on a stock frame. I don't know much about drop members, but I do know that's some wicked modification to the frame!

Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
It leaves the core support where it belongs so the front sheetmetal will still bolt up/line up to the cab.
fwiw, I originally had a 5.5" drop (3" CPP spring/2.5" CPP spindle & a big block chevy) on the front of my truck and the x-member/lower A-arms were very close to the ground. I ended up raising the front up almost an inch with some 2" Hotchkis springs.

Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
It's essentially dropping the core support, correct? So wouldnt the front end sheet metal then be off compared to the cab sheet metal?
I get the concept of getting the body down rather than the suspension, thus keeping your control arms off of the ground. Just not getting how it ends up working.

Z'ing the frame used to be more popular before air bags and after market crossmembers. Lots of fabrication but done right makes for a nice driving low truck with reasonable clearance. .

Re: 6 inch static drop anyone ?
Cool. But that basically shoves everything higher in the engine bay, right? Things must get pretty cramped.
