Cool stuff found in cab?

Think there's a similar thread someplace but...........I just removed the bench seat. Other than a buck worth in period correct coins and vintage Winston match book.....

Original S-hook for the tension rod for seat adjustment. There was a recent thread about the original part, but no pics of it. Really, any small S-hook will work.

Seat adjustment clip. I was hoping for a matching pair, but do have another set.

Option sheet. It was pretty torn up, but packing tape works. I'll make a copy and pack this away.

Edit: I thought to look up the original owner. Go figure the internet took me right to he and his wife's grave stone (What the?....nothing sacred w internet). He was born 1913, died 1998, 9 years after I bought his truck.

Man, this thread is getting morbid early.

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

Not my truck, but in a car I bought the guy left me his photo ID and a ticket to the "Hot Sex Workshop". Uncomfortable since I worked with him...

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

I found a lot of stuff jammed between the camper and the bedwalls on my 69. Included in the stash:
  • a partially drunk bottle of Jack Daniels. (still tasty)
  • a Fishing rod in a long tube container;
  • a very old can of "Chryco brake fluid;
  • A quality fish filleting knife;
  • two tire pressure gauges;
  • Two steel tins of Valvoline HD 10-20 40 Motor oil;
  • An antique hand tire pump;
  • Cardboard package of two Anco wiper blade re-fills;
  • Miscellaneous hand tools

Can't wait to pull the seat out...

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

When I bought my 68,C-10---
3,turbo-400 trans filter kits in the original Sears boxes from the early 70's.
A couple oil and air filters,also from Sears.
A brand new set of Gabriel air shocks.It already has the same air shocks installed,guess he wanted a spare set.
All the above stuffed under/behind the pass side buddy bucket.
An 8-track player under the drivers buddy bucket,with 4 speakers.
A small botle of gold touch-up paint in the glove box.
And,in the console,about 20 8-track tapes and a folder with all the service dates and parts replaced since new.
The original owner died and I bought the truck from his son.
Mike.

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

By bed isn't truck original, and it had been blasted when I got it. We were taking apart the rear and the inside bed body had this peculiar object along the rear corner, which had us a little stumped. We finished up and I nearly forgot about the object. Pulled it out..........fiberglass flag post on a steel clip.

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

I found an old rusty hand chisel down in the bottom of one of the rear steak pockets of the bed. Looked to be there for years. Found a quarter in the cab under the seat...........and a dead mouse.

Re: Cool stuff found in cab?

Speaking of the jack and handle, the handle and lug nut wrench in my truck are in a kind of cloth bag that stands upright on the RHS of the cab, in the rear corner. The cloth is getting pretty fragile, and I wonder if anybody is making a good reproduction.

Sounds like somebody needs to get over to the FOR SALE section.
